Best Beaches in Miami
The resort of Miami in Florida has many great beaches to attract tourists but which of these beaches are really the best ones? But what makes a “best” beach anyway? It depends on what you are looking for. Your idea of what qualities a beach should have could well be different to someone else’s.  Most people are looking for sand and sunshine and a place to sunbathe and swim in the sea but others are looking for a quiet place to get in touch with nature and seek inspiration and relaxation.

Let’s have a look at some Miami beaches that have been selected as recommended as the best ones to visit.

Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park

The Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park beach is found in several lists of top beaches in Miami and with good reason. Located at the southern end of Key Biscayne the Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park beach combines sunbathing, and swimming, as traditional beach activities you can enjoy, along with nature trails and a history lesson if you are feeling more adventurous. Tours of the historic Cape Florida Lighthouse are available.

The Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park is a wonderful place for exploring nature too.

Virginia Key Beach

The beach at Virginia Key is in more than one “best beaches” list too. This Miami beach gets picked out as one of the best places for seclusion.  It is quite near the Miami Seaquarium and is easy enough to get to. Some parts do get crowded but others are very quiet if you fancy some privacy.

Haulover Beach

Haulover Beach is located over the causeway from Bal Harbour and has been chosen as the best beach for surfing. It also allows nude bathing and the nudist section of the beach is signposted.

South Beach or Lummus Park

Located on Ocean Drive, South Beach, also known as Lummus Park Beach, has been called Miami’s best beach for “people-watching.”  This is the beach to see others at and to get seen. This is the beach to show off your tan and add to it, and to display the results of hours at the gym. Photoshoots are common at this beach and topless bathing is allowed here.
